As a part of Canopy’s initiative we have started conducting two Environment Education activities free of charge every month. Some of the activities conducted include:

1. Introductory Bird watching session at Bondla for the students of Govt. Primary School Ambeshi
2. Nature trail at Tambdi Surla for primary school students of Konkani Bhavan Margao
3. Slide show and lecture on Bird biodiversity of Goa during an excursion to Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary for Geology students of Govt. College Sanquelim- Goa
4. Slide show cum lecture for during symposium on “Sustainable Forest Management in Goa” held for the students of Govt. College, Sanquelim- Goa

As we progress in our aim of creating a model for sustainable tourism in Goa we have been getting encouragement from everywhere.  Recently we got published in the cover story of Outlook Traveller December issue.  We were also given coverage by the Goa’s local daily: Navhind Times.  You can read more at www.facebook.com/canopygoa

Also two featured episodes of “Chal Pasayek Ya” were presented on Goa Doordarshan.

It was a day full of amazing sightings and fantastic photo opportunities for our guest who was a bird photographer.  Our director Mr. Pankaj Lad too managed to do some digiscoping with the Swarovski field scope and his cam-phone.
